Our goal is to share details about public pickleball courts in and around the Phoenix area, where any pickleball player can play with no fees or memberships required to play.
The pickleball courts at Scottsdale Community College are located on the campus, which is just off the 101 freeway and Chaparral Road. The college is on the east side of the freeway, with the entrance just a short distance away from the freeway exit.
These pickleball courts are unique in that they are some of the only public courts I am aware of in Phoenix, Scottsdale or any of the surrounding areas that are not located in a public park or similar facility.
Scottsdale Community College (SCC) removed two of their tennis courts and replaced those two courts with pickleball courts for the public to use. To find the courts, enter the parking lot off Chaparral Road, turn left into the parking lot and follow the signs towards the fitness center. You will have to travel to the rear of the school behind the classroom buildings to make your way to the athletic facilities including the fitness center, tennis courts, and the pickleball courts.
Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is one of the only community colleges in Scottsdale, with Paradise Valley Community College being the next closest to SCC. In terms of athletic facilities open for the public to use, SCC is the only community college in the Phoenix area at the time of this writing that has open public pickleball courts.

How Many Pickleball Courts Are at Scottsdale Community College?
The Scottsdale Community College pickleball facility includes 6 outdoor dedicated courts with permanent lines and lights for evening play. The pickleball courts at Scottsdale Community College are located at the tennis court facility situated right next door to the fitness center.
I have played tennis here many times over the years and it is a great place to play. There is lots of open room around the courts and you look out over the track and football stadium as you play.
There is plenty of parking right next to the courts and restrooms are next door if needed at the fitness center. This is a great place to play pickleball for those in the area, so I hope the college keeps these courts open to the public.
